I've been less than kind to my liver for the past week. I was in Vegas for a bachelorette, can you blame me? Well...
Ways that we can harm our liver:
- drinking alcohol and sugary drinks
- consuming processed foods or non-organics
- smoking
- taking medications (even Tylenol!!!)
There are many ways that we can help our liver:
- incorporating milk thistle into our routine
- dandelions
- eating raw vegetables that are full of antioxidants
- cut out processed foods
- drink half of your body weight in ounces (of WATER!)
- if you can do without medications for a few days, do that. only take them if you have to, and consult your physician before cutting out prescriptions!
- drink white/green tea
- get active and sweat out some toxins
Please keep in mind that our bodies are created to detoxify! That's what they do, if we let them. No need for expensive cleanses or starving/fainting on juice diets. All we have to do is simplify our diets, leave some toxins out and our body will get us where we need to be. Add in lots of fresh veggies and water. Trust me, you do not need some quick fix cleanse in a package!
