One of the staples in a compassionate kitchen is a good burger! This recipe is one of the quickest. This is full of protein and you can add whatever other vegetables you are in the mood for, see my suggestions at the bottom.
Ingredients
- 1 can black beans
- 1 onion
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 cup bread crumbs (I use spelt breadcrumbs)
- 1 cup chopped cilantro
- 3 mushrooms (optional)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2-3 tablespoons jerk sauce
Directions
- Mash black beans with a fork in a bowl first, then add rest of ingredients.
- Mix together, then using hands squeeze contents into a ball.
- Break of chucks and flatten into patties.
- Put some oil in a pan, with salt and pepper. Heat on medium for a few minutes on each side
Note: you can also roasted red pepper and black olives, chopped, mmmm. I usually eat these without buns, topped with a sliver of white onion, mustard, alfalfa sprouts and avocado. These will last three days, keep the uncooked patties in the fridge!
Enjoy
