#tastyjuicetuesday

I slept way too long sleeping this weekend and didn't get a whole lot done (for me). This was a weekend spent living on other people. I gave all of my energy to it, but by the end of the nights I wasn't afraid to say "I'm tired." and have my butt driven home to get into sleep, whilst barely making it to wash off my make up and brush my teeth. Actually, after an awesome wedding last night, I came home to find 27 Dresses just starting on tv! So... I didn't QUITE fall asleep that quickly.

Something I will do for myself? Juice.

Tasty Juice Tuesday is a tradition I'd like to start, not just for my but for my family and others too. Tomorrows TJT will bring what the Fresh for Life cookbook calls Einsteins Theory Energy Elixir.

Ingredients
3 medium yellow or green pears
2 oranges
1 banana
1 vial of gingko biloba

Instructions
Juice pears first, them oranges. Transfer to blender, add banana. Blend for a minute and then drop in the gingko. I like my juice over ice cubes.

Gingko biloba increases blood flow to the brain, and circulation around the body. Be careful, as I know my mother said that her heart rate sped up back when she tried gingko, which made her uncomfortable. She said it was a bit irregular, which I've since learned is one of the side effects. I've googled the benefits and the possible dangers so that I'm fully aware. Also, I've taken it before and my bottle is half full in my fridge. I've had great experiences with it increasing my focus.

My dad used to make me juice every single day when I was young. Plain, warm carrot juice. Once, he grounded me for not drinking it. His response? I make juice for you because I love you, it is my way of showing you that I care. You rejecting the juice I made for you is like me rejecting a card that you made for me.

Make your loved ones a juice this Tuesday, and tell them you care :)
