Review: Coconut Water

Back in May I went to Negril, we practiced our 'maican accents endlessly. I tried a coconut, my first time, and loved it. I went on a rampage to find some good coconut flesh. Had some bad experiences. Insert grossed out face here, times two. And it's not easy to open a coconut. Ugh.

So I picked up Taste of Nirvana, made in Thailand. With pulp. It is now my seventy five calorie snack on the go or at the office. I initially picked it up because I was on the verge of falling asleep everyday, mucho fatigue-o, by the time four o'clock came around. I sipped some outside the store with my little stoner eyes and felt alive by the time I made a quick phone call. Went back and bought a case!

Since then, my standard american diet eating style mother has become addicted by researching the many benefits coconut water boasts.

Benefits... Should I just forward you the emails my mom sent me? It's only 23 pages long...

  • Boosts immune system
  • Assists with weight loss
  • Hydrates like crazy with it's electrolyte action
  • Keep skin elastic
  • Doesn't make you look younger but if you drink it when you're young, it will KEEP you looking young!
  • Increases circulation

Things to watch out for...

  • Weight gain if you drink too much and you're not an athlete. Better warn mother goose! I'm sure you all know about simple carbs already. Well apparently they're in coconut wata.
  • It's diuretic effect.
  • May affect with your blood sugar levels

Most likely if you don't consume too much, and aren't diabetic or have issues with your blood sugar, you'll be okay.
