Increase Your Metabolism

Sitting at a desk all day means a lowered metabolism and an average weight gain of 8 lb's within one year. It took me longer than a year but I got there.

Ways to increase metabolism:

  • raise heart rate in morning by working out
  • get up & walk around every hour
  • walk instead of emailing or calling (to deliver little hand written msgs to co-workers, in case that wasn't clear!)
  • stand up while talking on the phone, pace a bit
  • add a touch of apple cider vinegar to your water 
  • fall in love with spicy foods
  • eat whole foods & limit your processed junk to one or two meals on the wknd
  • don't drink pop, even Diet!
  • take your omega oil supplements
  • drink green & black teas
  • drink 1/2 of your bodyweight (in lb's) in oz's! (eg. 140 pounds = 70 oz. of water)
  • washroom jumping jacks
  • lunchtime walks around the block
